Thousands of Balti residents participated in a march on the occasion of the Victory Day. Renato Usatyi: “Lest we forget”!
Thousands of Balti residents took part in the solemn procession dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
By tradition, the column led by the city’s leadership passed from the mayor’s office to the memorial of military glory. Along the whole route a long chain of people lined up greeting the veterans and congratulating them on the Victory Day.
“73 years ago it was May 9, 1945. On that day a new world was born. The Fascist horde was stopped and defeated. Humanity was on the edge of the precipice, looked into the abyss, but took a step back. In the 20th century the history didn’t come to an end. The war ended because of the heroic deed of a Soviet soldier”, - Renato Usatyi wrote in his message of congratulations. On May 9, he congratulated veterans on the holiday.
“First of all I would like to congratulate the veterans on the Victory Day. My dears, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be born and live”, - Usatyi said.
“To all other people, Balti residents who participated today in the parade, despite the rain, to all citizens of Moldova, in general to all people I know, I just want to wish one thing: Lest we forget”.
