The State Duma deputy from the LDPR told the whole truth about the situation in Moldova
Moldova is ruled by the oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, who is trying to destroy the opposition party „Our Party” and crack down on its leader Renato Usatyy, while President Dodon supports Plahotniuc’s actions to block Transnistria as agreed with the Ukrainian authorities. This declaration was made by the deputy of the LDPR faction, Anton Morozov, at the plenary session of the State Duma during the hearings “Negative tendencies in the development of the situation around Transnistria in connection with the actions of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the authorities of Ukraine”.
“The oligarch Vladimir Georgievich Plahotniuc mainly determine the policy in the Republic of Moldova, by control over most of the posts in the government, law enforcement bodies and parliament,” Morozov said from the rostrum of the State Duma. - As a result of the fact that he actually seized power in Moldova, the situation regarding Transnistria is becoming increasingly belligerent. Apparently, the bad example of neighboring Ukraine, where Plahotniuc partner, Poroshenko is trying to solve the conflict in the Donbass by force, was contagious.
The authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine have organized an economic blockade of Transnistria and are trying to initiate a new conflict on the Dniester. If the escalation of the situation is not stopped, the consequences would be extremely disastrous for the entire region. The tragedy of Donbass can repeat in Transnistria”
The deputy of the State Duma noted with regret that President Igor Dodon not only failed to take actions that can prevent the crisis, but also cooperates with Plahotniuc, who together with his Ukrainian partners is trying to tighten the economic blockade of Transnistria.
“Unfortunately, President Dodon, encouraged, according to available information, the introduction of Moldovan-Ukrainian joint border checkpoint on the border of Transnistria and Ukraine, which actually leads to a blockade of Transnistria.,” Anton Morozov said.
“Chisinau attempts, with the support of Kiev, to subordinate by force Transnistria, can result in the resumption of the frozen conflict on the Dniester. The result will not seem to you too weak. We must do everything to preserve the fragile peace achieved at the cost of significant efforts,” Morozov stressed. About what kind “order” Chisinau authorities are
going to impose to Transnistria, you can see according to the repression they launched against their own opposition.
In a plenary meeting of the State Duma, Anton Morozov mentioned facts that prove the massive repression launched in Moldova against Renato Usatyy and “Our Party”.
And this is best exemplified by the case of “Our Party”, headed by the young Moldovan politician, Renato Usatyy, with whom the LDPR has an agreement on cooperation, - said the State Duma deputy. - The authorities are trying to destroy “Our Party” by any means. It was illegally removed from the parliamentary elections in November 2014. Usatyy, who had the highest rating among all Moldovan politicians, in 2016 was not allowed to participate in the presidential elections. To this end, the Constitutional Court expressly increased the age limit for presidential candidates from 35 to 40 years.
Usatyy, the leader of “Our Party”, became the target of a new barrage of repression, after publishing documents that reveled the theft of a billion dollars from Moldova’s banking system and proved that the main beneficiary of this theft is Plahotniuc.
Among other things, Usatyy has published evidence that for the registration of firms through which money was withdrawn from Moldova, the passports of the residents of Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic were used. Thus, the organizers of the “theft of the century” tried to kill two birds with one stone - not only to cover up crime, but also to cast a shadow on the DPR, LPR and Russia.
Contrary to all ordered, politically motivated criminal cases, fabricated against Usatyy, he received 74% of the vote in the first round of the election of the Mayor of Balti - the second largest city in Moldova. The representatives of “Our Party” headed the greatest number of city mayoralties. Today, more than 100 criminal cases have been initiated against 50 mayors, councilors of local councils, active members of “Our Party.
The Moldovan authorities intend to impede “Our Party” to participate in upcoming parliamentary elections. Plahotniuc launched the mechanism to destroy the only real opposition party, up to attempts to physically eliminate Usatyy, who is forced to stay in Moscow.”
Anton Morozov called for doing whatever possible to prevent the negative development of events around Transnistria.
“There are many things that need to be said about political repression in Moldova. But these examples are enough to understand that if the Transnistrians were under the authority of the current Chisinau regime, they would become subject to repression, prisons and ethnic cleansing. We must do everything to prevent events from developing in that direction. I hope that the statement of the State Duma will cool hotheads in Chisinau and Kiev,” he said.
