The State Duma condemned Plahotniuc’s plans to destroy “Our Party” and Renato Usatyy
Vladimir Plahotniuc - the oligarch who seized Moldova, launched the mechanism of destruction of “Our Party”, which is the only real opposition force and its leader Renato Usatyy, stated during the plenary meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation the LDPR deputy Anton Morozov.
In March of this year, the LDPR and “Our Party” signed an agreement on cooperation in Moscow.
According to Morozov, the oligarch Plahotniuc captured the power in Moldova and is trying to destroy “Our Party” by any means. He reminded that the Party “Patria”, whose electoral list was headed during the parliamentary elections of 2014 by Renato Usatyy, was illegally excluded from the elections, “and Usatyy, who had the highest rating among all Moldovan politicians, was not allowed in 2016 to participate in the presidential elections. To this end, the Constitutional Court expressly increased the age limit for presidential candidates from 35 to 40 years.
Morozov recalled that Usatyy, the leader of “Our Party”, became the target of a new barrage of repression, after publishing documents that reveled the theft of a billion dollars from Moldova’s banking system and proved that the main beneficiary of this theft is Plahotniuc. Among other things, Usatyy has published evidence that for the registration of firms through which money was withdrawn from Moldova, the passports of the residents of Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic were used. Thus, the organizers of the “theft of the century” tried to kill two birds with one stone - not only to cover up crime, but also to cast a shadow on the DPR, LPR and Russia.
“Contrary to all ordered, politically motivated criminal cases, fabricated against Usatyy, he received 74% of the vote in the first round of the election of the Mayor of Balti - the second largest city in Moldova. The representatives of “Our Party” headed the greatest number of city mayoralties. Today, more than 100 criminal cases have been initiated against 50 mayors, councilors of local councils, active members of “Our Party”, Morozov said.
In conclusion, the deputy emphasized, that “the authorities intend to impede “Our Party” to participate in upcoming parliamentary elections. Plahotniuc launched the mechanism to destroy the only real opposition party, up to attempts to physically eliminate Usatyy, who is forced to stay in Moscow.”
