- In a letter, Georgy Poltavchenko reports that the four kids from Beltsy became winners of the art contest “I draw Petersburg”. Young Beltsy citizens will go to Russia for a week to participate in the legendary holiday of graduates “Scarlet Sails”. There will be a big concert at the Palace Square and a grandiose light-and-pyrotechnic musical show in the water area of the river Neva. The awarding ceremony will take place. Such trips, and, it would seem, small steps, are very important for the rapprochement of our peoples. This is unforgettable for a child. I myself, as a schoolboy, went with a class to Saint-Petersburg. I still remember those happy moments of my childhood.”
Renato Usatii also said that all the costs of the trip were taken over by the administration of Saint-Petersburg.
The agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the administration of the Pushkin district of Saint-Petersburg and the mayoralty of the Beltsy municipality was signed on September 17, 2015 by the governor of Saint-Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko and the mayor of Beltsy Renato Usatii during the visit of the Beltsy delegation to the northern capital of Russia.
