The chairman of “Our Party” Renato Usatii stood up in defense of “democratically elected Balti Mayor Alexandru Petcov, considering that PAS and PSRM ‘threaten the citizens’ choice”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He wrote in his Telegram channel that councilors from the ruling party and socialists “have been sabotaging and blocking the work of the Municipal Council for a whole year, and now they are trying to remove the mayor by depriving him of his mandate.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“Behind this attack on the will of the residents of Balti lies a much deeper interest: the PAS and PSRM seek to establish control over strategic enterprises of the municipality, such as RED-Nord and Apa-canal Balti, as well as over other state and municipal property. These actions are not only politically, but also economically motivated, and their desire to destabilize the situation in the city and remove the democratically elected mayor is explained by a cynical desire to control the resources and public assets of the municipality,” Usatii said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
He assured that “Our Party” will fight by all legal and political means to protect the voices of B\u0103l\u0163i residents and the right of every locality to freely and democratically elect leaders.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“We will not allow this arbitrariness to go unpunished! All state institutions involved in these criminal acts will be punished with deserved punishment. The residents of Balti and all citizens of the country will find out who is behind this lawlessness and who is really guilty of trying to undermine the will of the people and democracy,” Usatii emphasized.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
