The representative of “Our Party”, former CEC secretary Alexandr Berlinschi believes that “electoral corruption should be considered together with the use of administrative resources.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said this in a TV program, drawing attention to the “alarming practice of extensive use of administrative resources by the party in power (PAS) during the 2024 presidential election.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“Such practices should be seen in direct connection with the phenomenon of electoral corruption, as both negatively affect the fairness and integrity of the electoral process. (…) During the campaign, the government provided assistance to certain categories of citizens. At least two election monitoring reports confirm suspicions about the massive use of administrative resources in the election campaign,” Berlinschi said. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
He also criticized the practice of implementing the state programs “European Village” and “European Village Express”, believing that they were used to influence the mayors in favor of PAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“The mayors were ‘persuaded’ and those who managed the funds decided to whom to allocate money for the development of settlements. Do you think these mayors were not under pressure to campaign for a certain candidate?” – the former CEC secretary rhetorically asked.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
He expressed hope that in the next elections the authorities would act impartially and ensure equal conditions for all electoral candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
