CHAIRMAN OF “OUR PARTY”: SOCIALIST LEADER IGOR DODON PERSUADES MOSCOW TO SUPPORT HIS CANDIDACY FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

The leader of “Our Party” Renato Usatii said that the leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon is in Moscow, where he is trying to get support to run for president. As INFOTAG reports, the politician said this during the program “New Week” with Anatolie Golea on TV8 channel.

Usatii noted that Dodon had nominated former Prosecutor General Alexandru Stoianoglo as a potential unified opposition candidate for the presidency, but “did everything to ensure that no one came to the meeting and supported Stoianoglo.”

“It was obvious that Dodon did not want to unite the opposition. He gave the names of politicians he invited to the meeting, but no one even called these people to formally invite them. Dodon was faking, he didn’t call anyone. Everyone found out about it from the press. That’s why the meeting was canceled. By nominating Stoianoglo, Dodon decided to somehow clear himself of the accusations of corruption. That’s what he did in the parliamentary elections, uniting with Voronin’s Communists. Now he has decided to hide behind Stoianoglo’s back,” Usatii said.

He said that immediately after Stoianoglo’s nomination, Dodon flew to Moscow.

“He is still there until now. He is now convincing his handlers in Moscow that Stoianoglo has no rating, and therefore it is now necessary to nominate him. And he will do as he is told. Dodon was told not to run for Chisinau mayor – he did not run. They told him to resign from the chairmanship of the Party of Socialists – he resigned. He was allowed to come back – he came back. Now he asks for permission to run for president. What Igor Dodon and Maia Sandu have in common is that they are controlled from outside. Dodon – from Moscow, Sandu – from somewhere in the West,” Usatii emphasized.
