The Chairman of “Our Party” Renato Usatîi believes that the authorities want to lower the gas tariff only in autumn, during Maia Sandu’s election campaign. He wrote about this on his social media page, noting that around 740 thousand household consumers in Moldova today are forced to pay almost double the price for natural gas.
He pointed out that the state enterprise Energocom offers gas to the glass factory at 6.80 lei, including VAT, while it charges consumers 14.40 lei.
“I asked specialists about calculations, according to which the real tariff for household consumers today should be 9.20 lei including VAT. Statements by Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov that by the end of the year the tariff could reach 10 lei confirm my words that Maia Sandu will use this issue in her pre-election race,” Usatîi noted.
According to Usatyi, “only in autumn, at the end of the presidential election campaign, the authorities intend to lower the tariff to promote Sandu based on this price reduction.”
“An election is an election, but why should people pay such a high price now?” the politician wonders.
