The chairman of “Our Party”, Renato Usatii, criticized today’s meeting of the Supreme Security Council, considering that it was convened by President Maia Sandu only to declare that citizens should save electricity. He said this in social networks, calling the past meeting “another proof of incompetence of the country’s leadership.”
“Maia Sandu convened the Supreme Security Council to find out how to solve the energy crisis. And found out. The conclusion they came to is that the only solution is to save money! And we also learned that everyone is to blame but her and her government, made up of incompetent NGO shills who did nothing to prevent the crisis. Sandu also said that she was ready to help her fellow citizens on the left bank of the Dniester River, but they are allegedly prevented by Krasnoselsky. I wonder what kind of help they want to send to Transnistria: jerry cans of water, blankets, firewood, fuel oil? Or send Recean there to distribute newspapers?”, – Usatii wondered.
In his opinion, the meeting of the SSC never clarified what the government did to prevent the crisis.
The politician himself suggests that in order to mitigate the impact of the price hikes on citizens, “cancel the 8 percent VAT on natural gas; increase pensions from January 1 instead of April 1; and develop a program of installment payments for electricity, natural gas and heat bills throughout the year to reduce the pressure on the neediest citizens”. However, he did not indicate how much money would be needed for this and from what to cover the costs.
He emphasized that a commission should be established in the future parliament to investigate those responsible for creating the energy crisis, as well as to check the purchase of energy resources.
