The chairman of “Our Party” Renato Usatii proposes to toughen punishments for all kinds of crimes. As INFOTAG reports, he said this during an interview with the Unimedia portal.
He recalled that one of his proposals during the current election campaign is the launch of the National Program “Safe Moldova”, which will help the country’s citizens feel safe both on the street and at home.
“It is urgent to tighten the Criminal Code in Moldova, both for corruption offenses and for other types of offenses and crimes. (…). Moldova is now in anarchy and the country has become an ideal place for burglars who rob houses one after another. The number of crimes committed by organized criminal groups has almost tripled this year compared to last year. We must take radical measures to change the situation for the better,” Usatii said.
According to him, while last year 131 crimes committed by organized criminal groups were registered, in the first 8 months of this year the number of registered crimes approached 400.
“This government made a mistake by appointing civilians to senior positions in the security agencies. These institutions should be run by professionals from the system,” Usatii emphasized.
