‘OUR PARTY’ DEMANDS REFERENDUM ON EARLY PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION

The Partidul Nostru (Our Party) addressed to the President and Parliament with a demand to initiate a consultative all-republican referendum on the issue of holding an early parliamentary election.

Party leader Renato Usatii said during the “New Week with Anatolie Golea” live program cast on the TV8 Channel on Monday night that the party has already sent an official request and is waiting for a response until March 8.

“We understand that a response may be given within 30 days. But we asked to consider the request, give a reply and make a decision possibly quicker, since there is no time. If a decision is not made, Our Party will act independently. We will follow the path provided for by law: we will contact the Central Election Commission, register an initiative group and collect 100 thousand signatures in demand of a referendum,” Usatii said.

He believes that a consultative referendum can be held on the same day as the presidential election, which will significantly save money on its organization.

“I assume that the authorities will abandon their idea to hold a referendum on the issue of European integration. They were explained that this referendum could fail, so it was better not to hold it. And a referendum on the dissolution of parliament is necessary now in order to have grounds for making appropriate decisions,” says the party leader.
