A PROJECT TO IMPROVE WASTE MANAGEMENT WILL BE IMPLEMENTED IN THE SOUTH OF MOLDOVA

A project to improve waste management will be implemented in the south of Moldova. This provides for an agreement that Cantemir Mayor Roman Ciubaciuc signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The agreement was part of the project “Solid Waste in the Republic of Moldova” and is aimed at improving waste management in region 1 (RMD1). Five more localities in the south of Moldova joined the project. The project aims to improve the quality of life and create a clean and safe environment for the residents of Cantemir and the whole south of Moldova.

According to the project, a modern system of efficient waste collection, transportation and recycling will be built in Cantemir. It is also planned to buy machinery and equipment that will simplify the process and make it more environmentally friendly.

The construction will start in 2025 and will be completed at the end of 2029, including the warranty period.

In addition, a waste recycling center, sorting station and composting station will be created in Cahul.
