Bălți is the first and only city in the Republic of Moldova to receive direct funding from the RoAid Agency (Romania). This was announced by the city mayor, Alexandr Petkov, who said that the municipality will receive 1.5 million lei from the Romanian Agency for International Cooperation for Development (RoAid) for the implementation of two socially important projects.
The agreement signed by the mayor in Bucharest on Tuesday concerns the installation of lighting for pedestrian crossings near educational institutions and the improvement of the territory of a kindergarten. This became possible as a result of agreements with the Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Cristian-Leon Țurcanu.
“The first project provides for the lighting of 25 pedestrian crossings. The second is to equip playgrounds on the territory of the kindergarten with modern and safe play equipment for the youngest residents of the city. The total amount of gratuitous aid is about 1.5 million lei” wrote Alexandr Petkov.
