LEADER OF “OUR PARTY” DEMANDS AUTHORITIES TO REACT TO ABNORMALLY LOW TEMPERATURES IN APRIL

The leader of “Our Party” Renato Usatii demands the central authorities to react to abnormally low temperatures in April, which can damage the agricultural sector of Moldova.

The politician wrote on his page in social networks on Wednesday that “in some regions, night frosts reach -5, even -7 degrees Celsius, and this is a serious threat to both fruit trees and grain crops”.

According to the politician, “if measures are not taken now, the consequences will affect not only farmers – in a few months every citizen of the country will feel the price rise and the shortage of domestic products on the shelves”.

„In this regard, we demand an urgent convening of the Commission for Emergency Situations to analyze the consequences of natural disasters, to take specific measures: compensation, subsidies, deferral of payments for owners of affected farmland. This issue should be brought up for discussion at the Supreme Security Council. The food security of the country is certainly more important than the issues they are discussing there,” Usatii emphasized.
