OUR PARTY LEADER RENATO USATII ACCUSES PRESIDENT MAIA SANDU OF “USING STATE INSTITUTIONS TO INTIMIDATE OPPOSITION”

President Maia Sandu uses state institutions to intimidate the opposition and establish an authoritarian regime,” said Renato Usatii, chairman of Our Party.

The politician reacted on social networks to the statements of Maia Sandu, after a meeting of the Supreme Security Council, at which the head of state “rebuked the Information and Security Service (ISS)” for concerts that Usatii held on the Grand National Assembly Square.

“Yesterday, Maia Sandu reproached ISS for our concerts. He’s passing sentences today. Without a trial. Without proof. Everything is according to the methodology of fear. She scares. She accuses. Threatening. If you’re not with her, you’re the enemy. Today you’re just a dissident, and tomorrow you’re an enemy of the state,” Usatii said.

According to him, Sandu “replaced democracy with a party dictatorship,” and “security with repression.”

“She forbids people to consider themselves Moldovans. She has one message.: The country is her. And everyone else is under suspicion. We are not afraid and we are not hiding, because we are among people, we raise cities, we unite the country. Saty believes that the day of the parliamentary elections in Moldova on September 28 will be a decisive moment: “The people will respond. By voice. Straight. Without fear. Forever,” said Usatii.
