RENATO USATII: DEBT IS GROWING, MOLDOVA IS SINKING, AND PAS IS READY FOR ELECTIONS

Our Party chairman Renato Usatii said that Moldova’s public debt is growing, Moldova is “sinking” and the ruling party PAS is “preparing for elections.” He said this on Monday, commenting on the parliament’s decision to revise the 2025 budget, raising its deficit to 18 billion lei.

“Prime Minister Dorin Recean is lying when he says that the public debt will not fall on the shoulders of citizens, but will be repaid by the government. This is the height of cynicism, as if the government has a separate budget formed from the donations of PAS members and not from the taxes and fees paid by every Moldovan citizen!” the politician was indignant.

According to him, “several billion lei have been added to the budget hole, which will be covered by external loans taken for pre-election handouts.”

“The bigger the budget hole becomes, the deeper will be the fall of PAS in the next parliamentary elections. Moldova needs a government of technocrats, formed of real professionals, regardless of political affiliation – a government that will be only for Moldova,” Usatii emphasized.
