THE LEADER OF “OUR PARTY” CONFIRMS THAT HE DOES NOT INTEND TO FORGE A COALITION WITH ANYONE
Renato Usatii, the leader of Our Party, has denied rumors, particularly those spread by the Socialists, about his intention to form a coalition with the ruling PAS. He made this statement on social media, emphasizing that his position remains unchanged.
“At all my meetings with voters, I say that society must be united; it cannot continue to be divided the way it has been for over 30 years. I say that under no circumstances will I allow a coalition with the ruling government or any party. I’ve been saying this for six months now: that ministries and embassies must be properly distributed among the parties, even those that won’t make it into parliament. “For example, the Socialists could get embassies in Russia, Belarus, and other countries, while the right-wingers could get embassies in Romania, France, and so on,” Usatii said.
He recalled that throughout his political career, he has rejected any coalitions—both with Plahotniuc in the past and with Maia Sandu today.
“I rejected a coalition with Plahotniuc, just as I am now rejecting a coalition with Maia Sandu. This cost me my participation in the 2014 elections. But Usatii somehow survived… In short, Igor Dodon, I have been conducting a proper campaign so far. I have work to do. I am working today to ensure that the PAS party does not have a majority. But at the same time, I am fighting to ensure that someone like you never comes to power again,” the leader of Our Party admitted, addressing the leader of the Socialist Party.
