„OUR PARTY” CALLS FOR THE CREATION OF A STATE BANK IN MOLDOVA

The creation of a state bank in Moldova will be one of the priorities of “Our Party” in the new parliament. Its leader Renato Usatii announced this at a meeting with voters, believing that the presence of such a bank will reduce both the cost of banking services and the cost of loans for the population and economic agents.

He noted that today all banks in the Republic of Moldova are controlled by foreign capital, which allows them to maintain high prices and receive huge profits, without taking into account the difficulties of citizens.

“They do not care that there was a drought, that there is no export or that the income of economic agents is unstable. Through extortionate interest rates, they drive farmers to bankruptcy and take away their land. Over the past two years, banks in the Republic of Moldova have received super profits, and the authorities have not introduced a tax on excessive income,” the politician noted.

According to him, Moldova has “not only the most expensive loans in Europe, but also the most expensive banking services.”

“A state bank is the only real solution to ensure access to favorable loans, whether for farmers or young people who want to get a mortgage loan to buy a home,” Usatii said.
