RENATO USATII WILL CHALLENGE IN COURT THE DECISION OF THE CIC ON ONE OF THE DONATIONS MADE BY THE PRESIDENT
The chairman of Our Party and presidential candidate Renato Usatii will challenge in the Chisinau Court of Appeal the CEC decision on the legality of a donation of 25 thousand euros made by candidate Maia Sandu to a church in Calarasi. As INFOTAG reports, Usatii said this at a press conference on Wednesday.
The politician noted that he had earlier submitted a request to the CEC to check the candidate’s actions for possible bribery of voters. But, on Tuesday, the Commission rejected the request, on the grounds that the deadline for filing the application had expired.
According to the CEC, I had the right to file this complaint about the donation made by Maia Sandu within three days after the information appeared in the press (the president’s statements appeared in mid-September – “I.”),” Usatii said.
He also believes that the majority in the CEC should belong to the opposition.
“Maybe we should give the opposition six out of nine members in the CEC? This is democratic, and PAS says it is pro-European. Or another option is to abolish this collegial body altogether and have the elections conducted by the 2221 election bureaus in the country under the Ministry of Interior,” the politician said.
