“OUR PARTY” LEADER CRITICIZED SIGNING OF PACT “FOR EUROPE”

The leader of “Our Party”, Renato Usatii, criticized the signing of the pact “For Europe.” In his weekly broadcast on social networks, he said that out of 82 parties registered in Moldova, only 13 participated in the signing of the document on Sunday.

“The same Filat (former prime minister, LDPM leader), on his way to the signing, turned towards the “Customs Union” at a crossroads, never making it. At the last moment, LDPM was replaced by AUR, which is declared a pro-Russian party in Romania. None of the leaders of the parties with more than 1% of the vote showed up to personally put their signatures. What kind of “historic event” is this if the party chairmen were ashamed to come to this event in person! If you count the majority of the parties who signed the pact, they don’t even pass the electoral threshold. For comparison, the Snagov pact in Romania was signed by all the parties, while the “For Europe” pact was not even signed by all the parties declared pro-European,” Usatii said.

In his opinion, the signing of the pact is a “combination” invented in the presidential administration to help Maia Sandu win the presidential election in the first round.

“Another purpose of this pact is to help the fall referendum initiated by Maia Sandu. But even some of those who signed this document, which has no legal force by the way, will boycott the referendum on European integration. This pact failed to unite society, and the citizens are neither warm nor cold because of it,” Usatii concluded.
