PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE RENATO USATII CALLS HIMSELF “MOST PERSECUTED CANDIDATE” FOR POST OF HEAD OF STATE

Renato Usatii, a participant in the presidential race and chairman of Our Party (OP), has called himself “the most persecuted candidate” for the post of head of state. He said in a live broadcast on social networks that he is being tried to be compromised.

According to him, the party’s websites offer an opportunity to donate.

“A person I don’t know made about 550 attempts to donate money for the election campaign both from bank cards from Moldova and abroad. In total, an amount of about 186 thousand lei was transferred. The scheme is similar to the one used by Plahotniuc and Filat in 2014, when we were illegally removed from the elections,” the candidate said.

He said that on Wednesday, October 9, the lawyers submitted official appeals to the Information and Security Service and the Cybercrime Investigation Service under the Interior Ministry.

“To date, none of the institutions have contacted NP representatives to provide details and investigate the matter, while the attack continues. The money coming from these transfers is immediately identified and returned,” Usatii emphasized.

Earlier in the air of one of the TV channels Usatii reported that “some persons from different countries insisted that I withdraw from the electoral race and to motivate it with health problems.”

“Some threatened me that a streetcar would run over me if I stayed in the race. Others threatened criminal cases abroad. I didn’t want to raise a big scandal over this. My goal is to run an election campaign, to communicate with citizens, to explain how we will change the situation in the country for the better. I will participate in the presidential election and I am not going to withdraw from this race,” Usatii concluded.
